Faux Painting by Graphics By Design
Faux finish or decorative painting is not new. The first known use of paint to convey illusions was the Myceans over 4 thousand years ago. These days you see faux finish on walls and ceilings in houses, office buildings and just about everywhere you go. The passion to learn new techniques has sent faux finish painters worldwide in search of teachers. Today faux finish is more than just sponging, ragging or marbleizing. European Plasters, textures and frescos have evolved using waterborne products making them safe for the artist as well as for the homeowner. From painted illusions to old world techniques the possibilities are endless being limited only by our lack of imagination.
